Wow, it's been awhile

So much to update! Well first, my SIL is having a boy! Yay! After the initial shock, I resigned that this is most definitely a wonderful thing.

We just returned from a weekend in Florida with my grandparents. The best Christmas gift we received was airline tickets to visit them! A quick visit, but always worth while.

Another thing that's going on, C. Had an interview with a local company. This is very good news. It would be a great opportunity for him with actual possibilities for advancement. I don't have any idea what it would pay though, or what the benefits would be. Whatever, as long as they cover maternity. We're hoping to hear some good news about this soon.

Oh, and Im not pregnant yet. ugh. So, we're onto another month. If I conceive this month we will have a November baby. If we dont, I think we'll take a break for a month. Im really not keen about having a child in December. I had a very dear friend who's birthday was at Christmas time and her big pet peeve was to get Birthday/Christmas gifts. We all had to make an effort to get her two separate gifts so she would feel special too. Anyway, we'll see about this though, I feel like I may not be able to be picky, wanting a child pretty badly and all.

here's something else that I have been mulling over a lot recently. Our church will be starting its Stephens Ministries training in March. Im not sure if this is something I want to do or not. A stephens Minister provides care for people going through hard times. Not a counselor or a pastor or anything, just a Christian friend. It entails 50 hours of training and bi-monthly meetings and peer review etc. I feel like being a good listener and a caring person are things I strive to do, but Im not actually sure if I accomplish it. I guess Im a little afraid that if I do this training, Ill find out that Im not. Im trying hard to listen better, and not offer advice. That is my first instinct is to try to fix it, and that really not what the Stephen ministry is about. Anyway, Im going to talk to a few people at church and find out more about the program.

Ok, how's that for a novel! Thanks for reading, and sorry for the super long hiatus.

Another little boy in the family. Congratulations to your SIL.

Sorry to hear you aren't pregnant. Good luck for next month. I hope it won't take much longer for you to fall pregnant.

Good luck to C! Hope he gets the job.
